Freeze Drying is a process that combines low temperature with pressure to remove moisture from meat, fruit or vegetables. A small amount of moisture remains in the product minimizing the bacterial risk.
Some key benefits include maintaining original color, shape and taste of the product in a reduced form. To use product simply re-hydrated with water returning its original size, freshness and nutritional value.
Fruit is 90% water in its natural state. The freeze drying process removes the water resulting in a 10 to 1 product ratio equivalent. The result is 35 oz. (1 kg) of fruit in its natural form equals 350 oz (10 kg) of in freeze dried form.
This reduction is weight and size allows easy storage of the dry goods. The product is shipped in Mylar vacuum sealed bags.
